Clinical Services

Responding to the growing demand from patients who are taking greater control of their health. Rexall Health Centre offers health care professionals including pharmacists, a doctor of pharmacy, registered nurses and more to provide you with the most current services in health care and wellness for your family.

We are frequently adding new clinical services to serve you better.

Longer private one-on-one consultations with the pharmacist
The pharmacist is available for one-on-one consultations to answer your questions, help you understand your medications, promote wellness and offer advice on a variety of topics such as smoking cessation, cholesterol control and more. Speak to the Pharmacy Manager for more information on our expanded pharmacist services.

Asthma Education with the pharmacist
More than 3 million Canadians suffering from asthma and virtually all adults and children with asthma can live active, symptom-free lives if they have optimal control of their condition. Working with the Asthma Society of Canada, Rexall Health Centre will offer two pharmacist Asthma Education programs. Our “Five Minutes with a Pharmacist” program is available now. The pharmacist will provide an educational session including a Pharmacist Asthma Intervention Checklist, management plans, information referral and, where appropriate, referral to a family physician.

A 30-minute Asthma Education Program with the Pharmacist is currently in development and will be launched in 2007. The program will include asthma education and spirometry testing by the pharmacist.

Pharm D Clinical Services
A doctor of pharmacy (Pharm D) from the University of Toronto will be on site developing clinical programs specific to patient needs.

In-store health seminars
Each month Rexall Health Centre will feature informative health seminars in the pharmacy’s classroom. Expert health professionals will give seminars on how to improve your health. See the Event Calendar for more details.

Registered Massage Therapy
The RMT has extensive training in medically based massage for treating injuries and massage techniques including reduction of muscle tension. Beginning in May a Registered Massage Therapist will be on site at Rexall Health Centre two days per week. Contact the Pharmacy Manager for rates and for more information on this service.

Registered Nurse Services
A registered nurse will be available six days a week providing on-going wellness clinics focused on four health areas: heart, lung, bones and skin. The nurse will also provide personal home care consultations and home care group information sessions.
